06 / Before you start

A few things,
made clear.

Is LtdRecord an accountant or accounting software?

LtdRecord is software with an AI Operator and Tax Engine, not an accountancy firm. It keeps records, books and calculations moving. Complex matters still need a professional.

Does LtdRecord file directly?

Books & Tax includes VAT calculation and direct submission, with your review and authorisation. There is no paid-month waiting period or separate VAT submission charge. Direct submission of annual accounts, Corporation Tax returns and confirmation statements is outside the beta scope. Tax calculations do not by themselves submit a return.

Do I still remain legally responsible?

Yes. You remain responsible for your company’s records and filings. You confirm the facts, review the results and authorise submissions. GOV.UK: directors’ responsibilities

Can I switch from my current accountant?

Start with your statements and records. Agree a handover for opening balances, prior returns and outstanding work. Keep separate arrangements for advice and filings outside the beta scope.

What happens when LtdRecord needs more information?

It asks for the specific missing invoice, explanation or company fact. You resolve the question; the work continues. Unresolved items stay visible.
